Quick Start Guide: Scan

Quick Start Guide: Scan

This is a quick reference guide on how to prepare, scan, and save a batch of documents to be processed by RocketSCAN.

Before you scan

Check that the scanner is connected to power, is powered on, and that the USB cable is connected to the scanner and the computer.

Document Prep

Prepare your documents to be scanned using the below checklist:

Is it a genuine application? Check the paper size, paper quality, and the colors.

Recommended batch size is 25 applications or less.

The barcode on the application must be clearly visible and have no blemishes on it.

Each application MUST be signed in the correct signature box.

It is highly recommended that the applications are filled out using black ink.

The paper should be in good condition. Try to smooth out folds and tape up rips, tears, or holes before scanning.

Check your batch of applications for anything that may damage the scanner or otherwise cause a jam.

Remember: proper document preparation prevents poor processing performance.

For more information on best practices for this step, see “How to prepare documents for scanning” in our online knowledge base.

Load the scanner

RocketSCAN utilizes one-sided scanning, so ensure that the side of the documents that will be scanned are all facing the same direction.

Fan the documents to make sure all pages in the stack you prepared are separated.

Place the documents in the input tray. Adjust the paper guide in the tray as needed to the width of the paper.

Please refer to your scanner’s manual for the correct direction to face the documents for one-sided scanning.

Scan a batch

Click the Scan button in the Scan module interface.

Use the thumbnail pane (right side of the screen) and the image preview pane (left side of the screen) to review the results.

If any of your results have a red background OR the field boxes are visible, DO NOT CLICK SAVE. Contact Image One software support for assistance.

If all the results have a green background AND the boxes for the fields are not visible, click the Save button.

The pre-save prompt will ask you to confirm that the number of applications and associated images are correct. The post-save prompt will give you the opportunity to print a cover page to file with the batch that was just scanned.

If you are done scanning, you may close the Scan module. Otherwise, repeat the steps in this guide to scan another batch.
