How to run RocketScan as an Administrator
Version 4.10 and later no longer require RocketScan to be run as an Administrator in order for it to install update packages.
If you are seeing the message "An Update is available for RocketScan. Please run RocketScan as an Administrator to apply the update." then you need to uninstall the RocketScan client and then re-install it using the newest version of the installer.
If you are unable to log in to RocketScan due to an alert that says "An Update is available for RocketScan. Please run RocketScan as an Administrator to apply the update." then you will need to do the following:
- Close the RocketScan FMA Login window.
- While holding down the Shift key on your keyboard, right-click the RocketScan icon.
- Select the option to 'Run as administrator'.
A window may pop up asking if you would like to allow this program to make changes to your computer, choose 'yes' or 'ok'. If you are not an administrator-level user on your computer, this might not be an option for you. Please contact your local IT if you are unable to run RocketScan as an administrator.
After running as an administrator after the update, it is not necessary to continue running the program under that elevated privilege until the next update that requires that level of access.
